This article will walk you through how to use bed mode.
The system will automatically activate in bed mode and calibrate the bed. If in another mode, then press the bed mode button on the remote.
There are three different sensitivity levels for bed mode that can be adjusted via the VSTNotify mobile app or console.
- Low: Alerts after the individual is out of the bed.
- Patient/Resident can sit at the edge of the bed without the system alerting.
- Recommended for ambulatory patients/residents.
- High: Alerts when the individual makes the movement to elevate and exit, approach the bed edge, or slide out of the bed.
- Patient/Resident can reorient within the bed without the system alerting.
- Recommended for high fall risk patients/residents.
- Ultra-High: Alerts when the individual makes any movement past the bed edge.
- Recommended for impulsive and amputee patients/residents.
By default, the sensitivity will be set to High. To change the level, access the settings page for that room, select the appropriate sensitivity setting for your patient/resident, review and confirm. The sensor will be monitoring the bed at the updated level.
